‘Amarilli, mia bella’
by Giulio Caccini

19th August, 2020

From her flat in Berlin, soprano Rachel Pines performs Caccini’s ‘Amarilli, mia bella’, a song she last sang while on tour in Western Australia.

Rachel holds a Master of Music Studies from the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University and has performed with Opera New England, Opera Laurier and at the Trentino Music Festival. She made her German debut singing the dual roles of the First Lady and the First Spirit in The Magic Flute with Lyric Opera Studio Weimar.

Italian composer Giulio Caccini is considered one of the founders of the genre of opera, and one of the most influential composers of the Baroque style.
