An Aria A Day #121
BRONWYN DOUGLASS
‘Dich teure Halle’
from Tannhäuser
by Richard Wagner
Piano Jonathan Wilson
For An Aria A Day, Bronwyn Douglass performs our fifth Wagner aria, ‘Dich teure Halle’ from ‘Tannhäuser’. A staple in the repertoire of most 21st century opera houses, the aria celebrates reuniting with loved ones and redemption, a theme running through much of Wagner’s work.
After completing her Masters at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University, mezzo-soprano Bronwyn Douglass performed in many concerts with Queensland Symphony Orchestra and sang the role of Second Witch in ‘Dido and Aeneas’ for Brisbane Baroque Festival in 2015. Most recently Bronwyn was scheduled to sing in Melbourne Opera’s postponed ‘Das Rheingold’, conducted by Anthony Negus.
