An Aria A Day #122
LUKE VOLKER
‘Will You Love Me Tomorrow’
Carole King and Gerry Goffin
Fresh from his recital with Jason Barry-Smith last weekend, pianist Luke Volker performs ‘Will You Love Me Tomorrow’. Written by Carole King and Gerry Goffin, the song was originally released in 1960 by The Shirelles who took the single to number one on the Billboard Hot 100.
Did you know… the song was banned from many radio stations in the 1960s as the lyrics were thought to be too scandalous!
Luke is a Brisbane-based musical director, composer, vocal coach and accompanist. He holds a Bachelor of Music from the Queensland University of Technology (where he also studied Theatre and Acting), a Masters in Contemporary Music from the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University, and trained in music direction at the Tony Award®-winning Goodspeed Theatre in the USA.
