An Aria A Day #158

THE OQ ENSEMBLE
‘Ave verum corpus’
by W. A. Mozart
Piano John Woods

13th October, 2020

Following their performance at the Queensland Museum of Wagner’s Bridal Chorus, this evening the OQ Ensemble perform the Latin hymn ‘Ave verum corpus’ (‘Hail, true body’).

The motet, a mainly vocal musical composition by Mozart, was delivered just in time to celebrate the feast of Corpus Christi at St. Stephen in Baden bei Wien, where his friend, Anton Stoll, for whom the song was written, was the musical director.

The OQ Ensemble features Sebastian Maclaine, Timothy Newton, Samuel Piper, Xenia Puskarz Thomas, Katie Stenzel and Sofia Troncoso, with Musical Director Dane Lam.
