An Aria A Day #34

DOMINIQUE FEGAN
‘Un bel dì vedremo‘
from Madama Butterfly
by Giacomo Puccini
Piano Narelle French

11th June, 2020

Dominique Fegan performs Puccini’s soprano aria ‘Un bel dì vedremo’ (‘One fine day we’ll see’) from Puccini’s 1904 opera ‘Madama Butterfly’.

Perhaps the most well-known piece from the production, Cio-Cio-San’s Act 2 aria sees her awaiting the return of her long-lost husband, U.S. naval officer Pinkerton. First performed by Rosina Storchio, the aria has since become one of the most popular pieces in the soprano repertoire.
