An Aria A Day #63

‘Sul fil d’un soffio etesio’
from Falstaff
by Giuseppe Verdi

10th July, 2020

From lockdown in London, Queenslander Dane Lam and ‘honouree’ Queenslander Sofia Troncoso bring us the joyful ‘Sul fil d’un soffio etesio’, from Verdi’s final opera ‘Falstaff’.

The buoyant and magical piece sees Nannetta, disguised as the Fairy Queen, call the fairies out of their hiding places, commanding them to dance and trick the ever mischievous Falstaff.

Dane worked with Opera Queensland last year in our acclaimed production of Gluck’s ‘Orpheus and Eurydice’.
