From her very own wardrobe department, mezzo-soprano Cassandra Seidemann brings us Saint- Saëns’ stirring aria ‘Amour! viens aider ma faiblesse’ from the grand opera Samson et Dalila. Characterised by large-scale casts and orchestras, grand operas were popular in the nineteenth century and usually featured plots based on or around dramatic historic events.
Cassandra, who has participated in the Opera Queensland Young Artist Program, was first introduced to the work by vocal coach Donna Balson. This performance is dedicated by Cassandra to her parents in Germany for their 50th wedding anniversary.
