Cara Fox

Biography
Cara is Choral Director and a teacher of Music and Religion at Loreto College, Coorparoo. She has worked as a conductor in Brisbane for over twenty years, holding positions with the Brisbane Regional Youth Orchestra and the Australian Youth Choir, as well as in previous teaching positions in Brisbane and in the UK.
Cara is an experienced musician and has performed throughout Brisbane as a soloist, chorister and orchestral player. She studied Voice under Lesley Purvis at the University of Queensland where she won the Margaret Nickson Prize for Voice and studied the role of Pamina in UQ’s performance of Mozart’s The Magic Flute. Cara has also played leading roles in Savoyard’s productions of West Side Story, Guys and Dolls and Les Misérables.
As a chorister, Cara has enjoyed performances with The Tallis Scholars, Winchester Cathedral Choir, The National Youth Choir of Australia, The University of Queensland’s Concentus, The Brisbane Chamber Choir and Fusion, as well as performing as a soloist with The Bach Society. Cara has also been a member of the Brisbane vocal ensembles, The 10 Divas and Belladiva, recording a CD and performing throughout Brisbane and interstate, including at the Woodford Folk Festival and the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Cara also very much enjoys her role in liturgical music as a soloist, choirister and cantor, previously at The Cathedral of Saint Stephen. She was a member of the Schola there for over ten years. As well as singing, Cara is an accomplished pianist and violinist. She holds an A.Mus.A Performance Diploma on Piano and has performed as a piano soloist at the Concert Hall, QPAC.
