Eleanor Adeney

Biography
Eleanor Adeney, Alto & Violinist, is Artistic Director and Co-Founder of One Equal Music, Director of Music at the Brisbane Oratory and made her debut in 2025 as a Principal Artist with leading Sydney-based ensembles, Bach Akademie Australia and The Song Company.
Hailed by Limelight Magazine as a “Gifted Alto Anchor” Eleanor is regularly engaged as an oratorio soloist for local Brisbane ensembles with repertoire highlights including Rachmaninov Vespers, Duruflé Requiem, Handel Messiah, Charpentier Te Deum, Buxtehude Membra Jesu Nostri, the full collection of Bach cantatas for solo alto, excerpts from the Mozart Requiem with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, and most recently, Vivaldi Gloria with Camerata, Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra in QPAC Concert Hall.
Above all, Eleanor is driven by a love of ensemble singing. She has sung professionally in Brisbane’s major churches – from St Stephen’s Cathedral Schola to Lay Clerkships at St John’s Cathedral and All Saints’ Wickham Terrace – and gets a great deal of satisfaction from singing challenging one-per-part consort music by composers such as Gesualdo, Britten, and Poulenc.
An Honours Graduate of the Queensland Conservatorium of Music in Advanced performance, Classical Violin, Eleanor balances out her time spent singing by playing the violin in session ensembles and has performed with popular artists including Michael Bublé, Delta Goodrem, Ms. Lauryn Hill and the Ministry of Sound as well as esteemed conductors including Sir Mark Elder CH CBE and Simone Young AM. Eleanor is the grateful custodian of a 1798 French Violin (anon) on loan to her by a private patron.
