Biography
Tomasz Holownia is Conductor and Co-Director of Brisbane’s professional choir, One Equal Music, Director of Queensland Professional Choral Music Inc, and the Director of Music at All Saints’ Wickham Terrace. He graduated from the Queensland Conservatorium in 2017 with Honours in Classical Voice and completed a postgraduate certificate in Opera in 2018. Tomasz has worked in professional Cathedral choirs in the UK including as a Lay Clerk in Gloucester Cathedral and Choral Scholar at Tewkesbury Abbey, and was Director of the Annerley Oratory Vespers Schola from 2021-2023.
He has worked with a large range of ensembles as a tenor soloist including Ensemble Q, The Australian Voices, Brisbane Chamber Choir, The Queensland Choir, The Bach Society Queensland, Chordiality, and many more. Tomasz has performed as a soloist in much oratorio, including Bach’s St John Passion, Bruckner’s Te Deum, Handel’s Messiah, many Schubert and Mozart Masses, and modern works such as Leighton’s Crucifixus Pro Nobis and Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb.
A published composer with Wirripang, Tomasz continues to have many of his choral works performed by Australian Ensembles including One Equal Music, The Australian Voices, St John’s and St Stephen’s Cathedrals Brisbane, and All Saints’ Anglican Parish.
Alongside his musical work, Tomasz is a Software Engineering Manager at Epsilon Retail Media, and has been in software since 2020.
