Valerio Borgioni

Biography

Valerio Borgioni was born in Rome in 1997. He studied singing at Conservatorio Santa Cecilia in Rome, under the guide of M° Claudio Di Segni.

In April 2016 he is the winner of a competition for young opera voices organised by the Italian Cultural Heritage Ministry.

In 2018 he was admitted at the “Accademia di perfezionamento per cantanti lirici” at Teatro Comunale in Bologna. In March 2018 he debuted as Alfredo in Verdi’s La Traviata at Teatro Rossini in Civitanova Marche. In April 2018 he is the winner of the 8th edition of Concorso Lirico Internazionale “Anita Cerquetti”.

In May 2019 he played Rodolfo in the Bohème in Civitanova Marche. In the same year he debuted in Elisir d’Amore, produced by Fondazione Opera Domani. In 2020 he won the As.Li.Co competition and in October he sang in Werther, in the role of the protagonist, at Como Theatre.

In March 2021 he debuted in Mascagni’s Amico Fritz as main character and in July he sang the role of Rodrigo in the opera La Donna del lago by Rossini at The Sofia Opera & Ballet. In November he played Rodolfo in the opera Bohème in Como and Tonio in La Fille du Regiment in Cagliari.

In March 2022 he will debut as Earl of Leicester in Maria Stuarda at the Sydney Opera House; later he will be in Taranto for the Beethoven’s Symphony n.9 and in Bari for the production of Romeo and Juliette, in which he will play Tybalt.

He has just enjoyed extraordinary success in Donizetti’s Roberto Devereux in the title role at the Sydney Opera House.

In addition Borgioni has played Rigoletto and La straniera in Catania and Elisir D’Amore in Bologna.

His recent engagements include Elisir d’amore at Teatro Regio in Torino and Don Giovanni at Teatro Bellini in Catania, La Vedova Allegra with the role of Camille de Rossillon in Macerata.
