Megan Kim

Biography
Korean-Australian soprano Megan M. Kim began her tertiary education as a cellist, graduating from University of New South Wales with a Bachelor of Music (Honours). Under the tutelage of Donna Balson, she recently completed a Master of Music Studies (Opera Performance) at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where she was a recipient of the John Holt Todd and Florence Todd Scholarship, as well as the Greenberg-Gurney-Jensen Fund.
With the Sydney University Symphony Orchestra, she has performed scenes as Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni), Alisa (Lucia di Lammermoor), Peep-Bo (The Mikado) and the Sandman (Hänsel und Gretel). Megan performed the role of Amore in the Australian premiere of Elena Kats-Chernin’s arrangement of Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea and in 2024 debuted the roles of Mother in Jessica O’Donoghue’s Menarche, Moon in Aija Dragun’s In Cosmic Utero and Aurora Vainheart in Oliver John Cameron’s M.TH.R in the world premiere of MOTHER: a joint opera production of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and National Institute of Dramatic Art, directed by Lindy Hume.
Megan has participated in masterclasses with renowned artists including Benjamin Appl, Michael Smallwood, Teddy Tahu Rhodes and Zoe Zeniodi.
