Biography

Helpmann Award-winning Australian baritone Warwick Fyfe is widely acclaimed for his powerful stage presence and vocal versatility across a diverse repertoire.

Renowned for his Wagnerian roles, Warwick has sung the title role in Der fliegende Holländer, Alberich (Der Ring des Nibelungen), Klingsor (Parsifal) and Beckmesser (Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg) for Opera Australia; Wotan (Der Ring des Nibelungen) and Hans Sachs (Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg) for Melbourne Opera; and Alberich in Das Rheingold with the Japan Philharmonic and Tianjin Symphony Orchestras.

Across his broader repertoire, Warwick has performed Vodník (Rusalka), Scarpia (Tosca), Amonasro (Aida), Bartolo (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Leporello (Don Giovanni), and the title roles in Falstaff and Rigoletto with Opera Australia. He has also sung Vodník and Ferrando (Il trovatore) with West Australian Opera, Athanaël (Thaïs) and Amonasro for Finnish National Opera, Bartolo for Victorian Opera, Pizarro (Fidelio) in Melbourne and Perth, and Bottom (A Midsummer Night’s Dream) in Adelaide.

On the concert platform, Warwick has appeared with the Sydney, Melbourne, Queensland, West Australian, Adelaide and Tasmanian Symphony Orchestras, the Auckland Philharmonia, Sydney Philharmonia and the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic. In 2026, Warwick sings Sharpless (Madama Butterfly) for Opera Australia, Verdi’s Requiem with the Canberra Symphony, and Alberich (Götterdämmerung) with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
