Biography
Elise is a nationally recognised dancer, choreographer and video artist whose career spans two decades. She has worked internationally and in Australia as an independent artist and performer.
Elise was Assistant Artistic Director to Natalie Weir and dancer with Brisbane’s Expressions Dance Company (EDC) from 2008 – 2019. She obtained her Masters of Arts (Research) from QUT in 2016, investigating the use of the moving image and digital media in live performance.
Elise’s choreographic practice and research continues to investigate performance design, installation, moving image, site-specific and interdisciplinary contexts for dance and digital media. Elise was appointed Associate Lecturer in Dance at QUT in 2019. Elise has choreographed productions with Opera Australia and choreographed and performed in Opera Queensland productions including The Perfect American and Mozart Airborne. She returns to Opera Queensland to choreograph Patrick Nolan’s new production of The Marriage of Figaro, while Choreographer-in-Residence for CIRCA 202-2021.
