Paul Jackson

Biography
Paul Jackson APDG is a multi-award winning lighting and set designer, dramaturg and theatre maker whose practice encompasses theatre, opera, dance, music theatre, and live events. He is a graduate of the University of Melbourne and RMIT.
Paul’s lighting design credits for opera include: Rusalka (Opera Conference); La Traviata (Opera Australia, Opera Queensland / West Australian Opera / State Opera South Australia); Carmen, Breaking the Waves (Opera Australia); Happy End, Cassandra, Echo & Narcissus (Victorian Opera); Lorelei (Victorian Opera, Opera Queensland).
Other lighting design credits include: No Pay? No Way!, Oil, Do Not Go Gentle, Lifespan of a Fact, Death of a Salesman (Sydney Theatre Company); Sunday, Cyrano, Escaped Alone/What If If Only (Melbourne Theatre Company); Nosferatu, This Is Living (Malthouse Theatre).
Paul has won a Helpmann Award, two Sydney Theatre Awards, eight Green Room Awards (including two Body of Work awards), a Critics’ Award for Theatre in Scotland, and eight Australian Production Design Guild Awards. In addition, he has received over fifty nominations for design work from various State and National awards. Paul is accredited with the Australian Production Design Guild.
