Festival of Outback Opera is back in 2023!
Set in Queensland’s iconic Outback, the Festival celebrates the wonder of opera under an endless sky with a program of genuinely awesome outdoor concerts and pop-up performances in historical settings.
The Festival of Outback Opera returns to Winton and Longreach from 16 to 22 May 2023.

Festival of Outback Opera 2022 Recap
The Festival of Outback Opera returned this May, with more than 2,000 people in six communities experiencing the joy of live music and singing in outback Queensland.
Now in its second year, the festival featured outdoor concerts under star filled skies, pop-up performances on the main street, panel discussions in the local park and more.
Audiences travelled from across Australia and as far away as Los Angeles to experience opera in the Outback.

Day One Highlights
DAY ONE | The opening day of the Festival of Outback Opera brought Winton locals together for a night of song with Sing Sing Sing at The North Gregory Hotel.

DAY TWO | Saw laneways filled with music and the soaring melodies of The Sopranos grace The Royal Theatre Winton
Day Three Highlights
DAY THREE | The Dark Sky Serenade was a night to remember. With music from the University of Queensland Pulse Chamber Orchestra, the outback was filled with some of Opera's most beloved arias.
