Eleanor Greenwood

Biography
Versatile Australian soprano Eleanor Greenwood has performed across Australia, the United Kingdom, Europe, and China. In 2024, she made her debut as Floria Tosca in Germany, and in 2025 debuted as Turandot in London, later reprising the role. She also performed the roles of Senta and Gerhilde in a Richard Wagner Operngala at the Markgräfliches Opernhaus in Bayreuth.
In Australia, Eleanor sang in the Bendigo Ring Cycle, performing as Sieglinde (Die Walküre), Dritte Norn (Götterdämmerung), and Ortlinde (Die Walküre), while also covering the role of Freia (Das Rheingold). She was nominated for a Green Room Award in 2024 for her portrayal of Elisabetta in Donizetti’s Maria Stuarda with Melbourne Opera.
In Queensland, Eleanor performed in Opera Queensland’s The Sopranos with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, singing as Leonore (Fidelio) and Abigaille (Nabucco). She also sang the soprano solo in Verdi’s Requiem at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre and appeared in various concerts, including the renowned Festival of Outback Opera, where she performed alongside soprano Sumi Jo.
Winner of the 2023/24 YMF Australia Opera Award, Eleanor was the YMF Australia British School at Rome Scholar in 2025. She is a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music Opera School (London) and the Australian National University School of Music (Canberra).
Recent highlights include the honour of performing on the historic Alte Oper Frankfurt stage in concert with the Thüringen Philharmonie Gotha-Eisenach and acclaimed tenor Martin Muehle.
