Puccini’s classic La bohème is reawakened with a contemporary spin that explores how young people cope with uncertainty and change in today’s pressured world.

This intimate retelling of the great opera follows a group of friends learning to survive, falling in love, finding their voices and facing adversity. With its luminous score and headstrong passion, La bohème relates to the modern day in a way that’s vibrant, authentic and truthful.

This is Opera Queensland’s first touring production for high schools. Directed by Nick Skubij for shake & stir theatre co.
