Performance VERDI
Event Passed
Opera Queensland’s VERDI brings the power and majesty of Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi’s works to the Concert Hall stage for two performances this November.
Songs from La traviata, Macbeth, Il trovatore, Rigoletto, Don Carlo, Nabucco, La forza del destino (The Force of Destiny), Otello, Falstaff and Aida will reveal the extraordinary emotional range and technical virtuosity of a composer whose instinct for drama has ensured his works remain vibrant and alive.
With an ensemble of some of Australia’s finest opera singers, the Opera Queensland Chorus and the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, VERDI celebrates the grandeur and energy of the master Italian composer, led by conductor Johannes Fritzsch.
Hear singers Eva Kong, Sofia Troncoso, Rebecca Cassidy, Hayley Sugars, Rosario La Spina, Virgilio Marino, José Carbó and Timothy Newton.
VERDI features arias, duets and ensemble pieces including the powerful “Va, pensiero” (Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves) from Nabucco. The song calling for unity and strength in the face of complex and uncertain times still resonates profoundly with audiences around the world.
If you want to experience a night of powerful music making, by exceptional artists, VERDI is a must-see event.
