Yorta Yorta soprano and composer, Deborah Cheetham AO, Artistic Director of the Short Black Opera Company, shares songs by Glanville-Hicks, Kats-Chernin, Bauld, Boulanger, Cilea, Strauss, Puccini, Mascagni, Gounod and her own compositions.

In Deborah’s words, “The stories of this continent and its people have been maintained through song by the women as custodians of culture. This recital celebrates the female poets, singers and composers who have shaped my identity through the music that has inspired me.”

Well known to audiences across Australia, Deborah makes her debut performance with Opera Queensland in Songs My Mother Sang to Me.

In the event a performance is cancelled due to Covid-19, patrons will be offered a full refund.
