Recital Songs of Love and Death – Jane Sheldon & Alex Raineri

Event Passed

Praised by The Washington Post as “a stunning performer”, acclaimed Australian soprano and composer, Jane Sheldon, specialises in exploratory chamber music.

The recital will enchant and haunt in equal measure, leaving you spellbound long after leaving the studio.

From Debussy’s Chansons de Bilitis to Messiaen’s epic song-cycle Harawi, Songs of Love and Death journeys through peaks of ecstasy, monumental in sentiment and scale. The program is complemented by Jane’s own work, co-composed with Julian Curwin. For a more detailed overview of the recital read Alex Raineri’s Program Notes.

Presented in partnership with the 2021 Brisbane Music Festival.

In the event a performance is cancelled due to Covid-19, patrons will be offered a full refund.
